A secluded and picturesque residence just 5 km from the historic centre of La Maddalena Island, off main land Sardinia. Built on a picturesque cove, wild and stunning, where there was a granite quarry, amongst Mediterranean shrubs and rounded granite rocks.
The apartments and the bungalows are housed in a horse shoe shaped historic building. The one and two bedrooms apartments are situated only a few metres from a beautiful bay perfect for snorkeling. Some have private patios, others small gardens with fig trees and traditional stone barbecues and fig trees.
Through an inner path, in few minutes one can reach some of the most beautiful beaches of the island, or explore the beauties of the Mediterranean scrub land. The barren landscape matches well the style of the buildings and the interior design of the apartments, linear and essential. Sardinia's nature here is remarkably pure. It speaks of this island.
The apartments have been obtained from the total renovation of old housing, but have retained the simplicity that cannot fail to exist in this region.
The apartments have independent entrances and outdoor areas:
The Resort has a private parking and offers great opportunities for walks; there is a private cove and unlimited access to the sea. The main building has two floors with independent apartments. Also wide open spaces with barbecues and wood-burning ovens, relaxing places with enjoyable sea views. A greatly romantic place, the beauty of nature so strong. A place for all of those who love the sea and for families with children (young children will need supervision).
Not many know that The Archipelago of La Maddalena is part of the European network of areas of great environmental importance (Site of Community Importance and Special Protection Area). It is the natural habitat of many protected species (dolphins and wales etc.) but also protected plants such as the indigenous juniper tree and shores which have remained inhabited and wild.
La Maddalena is the largest island of the Archipelago with innumerable sandy coves, granite coves, sandy dunes and moon like landscapes made of huge rounded granite rocks, like Teggie beach.
La Maddalena houses also a small picturesque town with an historic centre: silent squares and antique cobbled narrow lanes where we can find art-deco cafes, nice restaurants, lively bars, ethnic shops together with some design boutiques and Mediterranean "trattorie".
In the summer visitors will love to visit the colorful "hippy" market which occupies some of the old town late at night. Together with the occasional street musician and open air concerts they will offer that extra feel of vacation and culture.
